Media Invitation: Book/CD Launch "The Magic Recorder"


MONTREAL, April 27, 2011 - Media representatives are invited to attend the official launch of the Greek language children's book/CD, "I Magiki Flogera" (The Magic Recorder), a unique transatlantic production based on a classic German tale (The Pied Piper of Hamelin) featuring the Chroma Musika/Socrates choir of 54 children from Montreal and the ZOUZOUNIA, Greece's most popular children's musical group, accompanied by l' Orchestre symphonique Ensemble Sinfonia de Montréal.

Where: Hall d'honneur de l'hôtel de ville de Montréal, 275 Notre-Dame East
When: Friday, April 29, from 6 pm to 8 pm
Who: The Chroma Musika/Socrates choir will perform a selection of songs from the CD that accompanies the book. Five members of "TA ZOUZOUNIA" cast have been flown in from Athens to sing at the launch.  Presentations will be made by the book's author, Christina Mania, and the composer, Yiannis Georgantelis. Katerina Giannikou, founder and artistic director for TA ZOUZOUNIA, and Dimitri Ilias, co-director of Chroma Musika will also speak at the event.

Mary Deros, City Councilor for the borough of Villeray-Saint-Michel-Parc-Extension and Member of the Executive Committee of the City of Montreal will welcome and invite these gusts to sign the "Livre d'or" of the City of Montreal.

Please also note that the Hellenic Community of Greater Montreal (HCGM) will be hosting a launch party to celebrate the Canadian release of the Greek language children's book and CD, "I Magiki Flogera".
